Gunpowder PTA Emails

Hi Mike,
You were nice enough to upload the attached list of e-mails into our website database so that I could send e-mails to them. You sent me a note telling me you had done this on November 11, but I think there might be something wrong. I sent out a broadcast e-mail to this year’s list Monday, November 22, and again this past Sunday. According to the website, there are only 91 members in the database. I think we were close to that before I sent you the attached Excel file. The Excel file has 307 addresses in it. I expect that many of them are also already among those who registered on the website, but would expect the total to be at least in the 200’s. Can you check to see what might be wrong? Right now I am e-mailing to the current list and last year’s list as two separate e-mails and every time I do I get gripes from people about the number of e-mails or about the fact that they have moved and do not wish to receive e-mails from the PTA. I’m thinking one good list for this school year should solve that problem.

Gunpowder PTA: Email Addresses

Mike,
You did me a favor last year and did an upload of e-mail addresses into Gunpowder’s website database so that we could e-mail all PTA members, not just those that have taken the initiative to set up a website account. I’d like you to do the same for us this year. I have attached an Excel file with the following categories:
- First Name
- Last Name
- E-mail Address
- Membership Type (Teacher or Parent)

The parent members are not identified by grade. I don’t think we worried about that last year either. My hope is to be able to e-mail this whole group plus those who do have a website account all at once so that I can stop using last year’s distribution list. Please have the software eliminate duplicate addresses if possible. My guess is the 60+ people who have set up website accounts are among the more than 300 in this list. Also, please keep the link at the bottom of our e-mails that lets people remove themselves from the e-mail list and the PTA directory. Once you import the attached list, please let me know so that I can send out a mass e-mail telling everyone that they are in the system and that we would like them to create and populate their own account, or if they don’t want to receive e-mails from the PTA, remove themselves from the list by using the enclosed link.
